Calling all Sci-fi writers

My friend Drew Avera is looking for a few science fiction writers for an anthology he wants to put together. He also wants to use it as a tool to get authors names out there, we all know how hard that can be.

The anthology is going to be science fiction short stories based on Biblical stories. Clean language is a must and respect should be given to the source material. Violence is okay depending on the story

Hi, My name is Jamie Dodge. I am a full time writer and a full time caregiver. I generally write science fiction, but will dabble in almost anything, I can't write romance to save my life. I was born and raised in Central Florida into a large Italian family. The youngest by four years I had the advantage of being taught to read by the time I was 3. I don't think a day had gone by since then, where I haven't had a book in my hands at some point. One day I figured I would try my hand at it, so I wrote my first novel, The Forgotten Edge. I always get asked why I use the profile picture I do. I wish I could tell you, but I can't. It is a promise I made a few years ago, and I will honor it until I am given permission not to. That's it. That's me. I hope you enjoy my ramblings about my writing process and the other things that I find interesting.

How would it be produced and how close to biblical stories do you need them to be? I’m a Christian Author but my works aren’t strictly Christian fiction. I would have to clear this with my publisher.

The original meaning behind the stories should still be evident. I prefer Christians to write them but as long as the stories aren’t perversions of the intent behind the stories then they will pass. Obviously some people may put aliens in their stories, but turning God into something evil or something like that is a no go. It will be published as an eBook only at this point and made perma free.

Joshua, I would think a person reading it would have to recognize it as whatever story you are telling, other than that, it’s pretty much free range. Drew has said he will do the cover and I will probably help with the editing. I’m not sure yet, but I think he will do it as a kindle format. Either I or he will get back to you on the production.

I would like the story to be used as an avenue to interpret the original meaning of the story in a different way. I would prefer the people writing them to be Christians, but I don’t want to make that a requirement. So long as the source material is respected and the meaning behind the story is still evident then I’ll accept it. The last thing I would want is for the stories to try to disprove the bible.
